Pinned topic Odd ACL's showing up in seedlist for IBM WCM 7

‏2011-08-24T19:16:19Z |
I have correcting setup and connected OpenLDAP to IBM WCM 7. This means I can login with user in OpenLDAP and mange his/her password in OpenLDAP. Properly names are showing up elsewhere in the seedlist so I'm seeing uid=persion,dc=persons,dc=mycompany,dc=com in the seedlist. For all intents and purposes everything looks good.

Until you verify the ACL's for a couple test content items I've create and given permissions to. In my seedlist the ACL's are showing up like this:

<wplc:acls>
<wplc:acl>Z9eAeOHDI3OKCJ9DAMM474RDIJMG63RCIJM8CJ1EAMMG6NPD46Q8C2BD43R86N1</wplc:acl>
<wplc:acl>Z8eAe3IJQJB1AJAG8K659EQKOI7LATPH4L7LAGQKO22D8TPI05MG83AFU49T8</wplc:acl>
<wplc:acl>Z9eAeLAI8KU484AJI47H5FALQ38L8F2KOK2H54QGQJ51AC1H6KUS9IQH0</wplc:acl>
</wplc:acls>

Which seems like they are being encrypted for some reason or perhaps these are odd default values? I have no idea and hours of Google searching have turned up nothing. This is on a clean fresh install of IBM WCM so maybe I have missed a configuration item? No errors in logs.

    I have forwarded to the WCM seedlist team to see if they have any insight.

    Appreciate it! To clarify I double checked the version, I am on 7.0.0.11.

    Here is the response I received from Portal / WCM dev...

    It's correct the ACL information has changed in 7.0. WCM does not publish the serialized object ids instead of the DNs.
    The reason for that is that the Portal Search team changed their pre- & post-filtering checks on the portal side.

    @bfoyle

    Can you ask how to resolve these serialized object ids to DN's and/or point to an article that might have this information?

    Thanks again for your time!

    response from that latest query:

    It should be possible to deserialize the ObjectID via the Public Identification service and then lookup the DN using Puma

    hope that helps...
