Re: Welcome to AccessMyNYC Feedback forum!2011-10-14T11:29:45Z in response to SystemAdminHi - I'm an IBMer who used to live in Queens, NY. My sister, who uses a wheelchair, came to visit for a weekend. Of course, she wanted to do some sightseeing, and I didn't have a car, so we needed to use public transportation wherever possible (cab trips add up!). We faced a lot of hurdles finding ways to get around the city that were accessible. Having this app would have been a big help in planning how to do things. I like the fact that you can type in a keyword like "seaport" or "empire" instead of having to know the address - that is a nice feature - especially for NYC, where there are so many iconic places.

Thank you for your comments on the IBM AccessMyNYC mobile app prototype. We are excited to debut this mobile app prototype coinciding with the IBM THINK exhibit in New York, to demonstrate how IBM can partner with state and local government to help make cities smarter and more inclusive. I suggest you routinely visit our web site at www.ibm.com/able, to keep updated on the latest accessibility initiatives from IBM Human Ability and Accessibility Center.
Again, thank you for your comments on the IBM AccessMyNYC mobile app.
