Pinned topic Passing data to a popup window through javascript

I am trying to write the following (simplified from what I am ultimately trying to do, but the basics are here) :

Display a picture on the webpage, when somebody clicks a piece of the picture a window pops up with information based on the clicked coordinates (so the popup window gets the coordinates passed to it and does some action on them, i.e. DB2 call).

I am working with the latest Websphere (7.0) and Web Experience 7.0.1.

I have written the code so it will display the picture and using Client Javascript, I can determine where the user clicks within the picture, I can display the coordinates in the parent window (text area), I can then open up a popup window, but for the life of me I can't get coordinates over to the popup window.

For opening up the Popup window from within the javascript code I am using the "showModelessDialog" call and using the "getBackchannelActionUrl" to get the popup ACTIONLIST which calls the popup PAGE.

The popup window is within the same model as the parent window.

Is there an easier way to do this? Or is it even possible?

Graeme Anderson.
