Hi Techies,

We have this error in the Oracle RAC AIX nodes. The errpt says:

LABEL: AIXIF_ARP_DUP_ADDR
IDENTIFIER: FE2DEE00

Date/Time: Mon Aug 1 15:26:06 2011
Sequence Number: 15677
Machine Id: 00C7B6B64C00
Node Id: RAC-1
Class: S
Type: PERM
Resource Name: SYSXAIXIF

Description
DUPLICATE IP ADDRESS DETECTED IN THE NET

Failure Causes
ARP RESPONSE RECEIVED FOR MY IP ADDRESS

Recommended Actions
CONTACT NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR

Detail Data
DUPLICATE IP ADDRESS
0A93 6DFD
MAC ADDRESS
9297 AF6E D72B
I checked many reponses in google and also IBM docs, they tell about Windows servers having Brodcom adapter. But here, the MAC address in the error belongs to another AIX node in the RAC.
Also, for your refence, I'd collected the ip alias details of the conflicting adapters

RAC-1 - ent1 - 6e:e6:f3:e6:24:2b - 10.147.109.252
