Hi

I m trying to use theCICS Transaction Server Feature Pack for Dynamic Scripting V1.0 which embeds and integrates WebSphere sMash into the CICS TS V4.1 run-time,
I am trying to connect to run a php code in this feature pack which connects to DB2 on z/Os. I am unable to establish a connection to DB2.

I have tried configuring the connection to DB2 using the following lines in the zero.config file in application dirctory

/config/db/STPDR11= {
"class" : "com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2DataSource",
"serverName": "STPDR11",
"portNumber": 591,
"databaseName": "DSN00241"
}
/config/resource/dbKey = "STPDR11"

but when I try to validate the connection , I am getting the following errror. The SQL code says that the location name is mentioned wrong, but the db2 subsytem's location name is given correctly

  1. zero validatedb STPDR11
Ýpdq¨Ý0¨Ý1.3.110¨ CWPZC9001E: Could not obtain Connection from zero.cics.db2.CICSDataSourceProvider.SingleThreadDataSource; Caused by:com.ibm.db2.jcc.am.jo: Ýjcc¨Ý50053¨Ý12311¨Ý3.57.91¨ T2zOS exception: Ýjcc¨ÝT2zos¨T2zosConnection.flowConnect:execConnect:1347: DB2 engine SQLerror, SQLCODE = -950, SQLSTATE = 42705, error tokens = ERRORCODE=-950, SQLSTATE=42705

Can someone provide me suggestions on this.

Thanks in advance

    Hi. This may not be the whole answer to your question...

    The DB2 support in CICS Dynamic Scripting is intended to use the CICS built in DB2 connection. This provides integrated support for DB2 in the CICS environment, including transaction coordination.

    I have just followed all the instructions for setting up and configuring DB2 support in CICS Dynamic Scripting on the page "Connecting dynamic scripting applications to DB2" in the CICS InfoCenter.

    With the following entries in my CICS Dynamic Scripting application's zero.config file :

    /config/db/STPDR11= {
    "class" : "com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2DataSource"
    }
    /config/resource/dbKey = "STPDR11"

    I issued the validatedb command with the following results:

    /MV27/p8build/jplaw/sMash4CICS/apps/db2test:>zero validatedb STPDR11
    CWPZC9069I: Successfully connected to configured database -> STPDR11
    CWPZT0600I: Command validatedb was successful
    /MV27/p8build/jplaw/sMash4CICS/apps/db2test:>

    Note this also required an active DB2 connection installed in CICS (DB2CONN connected).

    Would you be able to use the same approach, or if not, could you explain more about what you would like to do?

    Thanks, Jonathan Lawrence

    Hi Jonathan,

    Thanks for your reply
    I tried using the following lines in the configuration file
    config/db/STPDR11= {
    "class" : "com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2DataSource",
    "serverName": "STPDR11",
    "portNumber": 591,
    }
    /config/resource/dbKey = "STPDR11"

    I had validated the db as mentioned ,

    I am able to connect to the DB2 now

    Thanks
