Hi,
I want to find an approach to connect database to cloud application using cast iron. How this can be done without using salesforce activities?

Did not completely understand your question. You would need activities for orchestration. Without that, CI cannot perform orchestration. Regarding connecting to the DB, create a DB activity. Hope this answers your question

In the CI studio toolbox, click the activities tab, tehn look under the Database folder, not the Salesforce.com folder. If you want to know your Database's IP address for "Server" of Database Endpoint, what you do is open the Command Prompt and type "ping serverName" with the serverName being something like usnybgdev03.
