Pinned topic Bootable Media Creator

‏2011-08-02T13:07:06Z |
Hello

I'm trying to create the Bootable Media Stick for an HS22 Blade. Problem is i can't create it.
Getting this error message at the end:

Error(s) occurs while downloading!
Error message: Acquisition error: Unrecoverable error downloading updates from IBM update repository
Anyon e has the same problems? Tried it on different machines and even on my home computer but it didn't work neither.
So is there another possibility to install the updates? There's no OS installed. I remember earlier i could download the .iso of some updates and boot with them - but there aren't anyones now.

thanks and best regards

Patrick

We're also having this issue. Which frankly holds up quite a few of our urgent processes.

I believe its a technical issue with the IBM site at the moment. In the mean time, there is a workaround:

        1. Download the required updates for the system individually - Linux versions.
        2. Download UpdateXpress System Pack Installer for Microsoft Windows from here:
        https://www-947.ibm.com/support/entry/myportal/docdisplay?lndocid=SERV-XPRESS
        3. Place all files in the same folder and run Bootable Media Creator
        4. Select option 'Look in a local directory' and specify that folder.
        5. Get your iso image :)

It's a little tedious but shouldn't stop work till the service is back up.

It must still be a issue. I can't get BOMC 3.0 or 2.3 to download anything.

I just ran into this problem. Same error message received when trying to use BoMC version 9.21 for Windows x86 to download files from the IBM repository. My laptop is running Windows 7 Pro. A colleague was able to download files using BoMC 9.21 for RedHat at the same time, so it doesn't appear to be an IBM site problem. I even turned off my Symantec network protection just to see if that was blocking it but that made no difference. - Chuck

I still can't get BOMC to work.

FYI guy's, I finally got this working in XP mode. If all else fails try a Windows XP machine.

For some reason it does not work on Windows 7 64bit.

Hope this helps someone else out there! :)

          I tried run BOMC in Windows 7 64bit and Windows 2003 64bit.
          It doesn't work.

BOMC works only when I set compatibility mode on Windows XP.

I'm running it on Windows 7 and 8 without issues. I did find that I had to clean out my workingdir of ALL previous downloads in order for it to download the latest updates and create the iso file.
