Pinned topic Strange DB2 errors during Optim Install

‏2011-07-21T12:52:39Z |
Hello,

I am running into a strange error when running the Optim installation program after I unload Optim and Set up the CLISTs.

The Temporary Bind of the Optim plan for install step works with no problems, but when I attempt to create the storage group, the following error occurs:

DSNT408I SQLCODE = -104, ERROR: ILLEGAL SYMBOL "Ù". SOME SYMBOLS THAT
MIGHT BE LEGAL ARE: <ERR_STMT> <WNG_STMT> GET SQL SAVEPOINT
HOLD FREE ASSOCIATE CALL
DSNT418I SQLSTATE = 42601 SQLSTATE RETURN CODE

When I copy/paste and run the SQL statement that Optim attempts to run in SPUFI, the storage group is created with no problems. Here's what the statement looks like:
CREATE STOGROUP OPTIMSG VOLUMES ( VPWRKB) VCAT OPTIMVC

If I select the option to use and existing storage group (which I created earlier in SPUFI), I get this strange error:
Invalid Cursor name
Rel=6.1.1, Code=-1, AuxInfo=

01 DSQL (01149) DSQLFetch
02 PDPIS24 (00178) (PDPIS24)_dynamn
03 PDPISM (00305) (PDPISM)main
I am not sure if the errors are related. If I skip this step, similar errors occur in the process of building the Optim Directory.

My environment:
Optim V6.1.1
DB2 for z/os V9.1.5

I don't suppose anyone else has run into that error? Any ideas? Has anyone successfully installed Optim on 9.1.5?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers,

John
