Pinned topic Exception: java.io.IOException: Unable to tunnel through proxy

‏2011-06-23T11:13:27Z |
Hi,

We installed RAD8.0 to a windows 7 computer and we defined our testportal in it. It looks started and when we wanted to add our portlet project to this server we get following error in RAD :

The publish encountered some problems and the application may not have been installed or
it may have been successfully installed but was unable to start.
Failure uploading archive to server:
Upload retry limit exceeded for file D:\workspace\.metadata\.plugins\com.ibm.etools.wrd.websphere.core\tmp1308826569907\IPMSPortlet21EAR.ear.
Exception: java.io.IOException: Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden":
Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.0 403 Forbidden"

What can it be the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

We unchecked a checkbox related with development optimization in server document in RAD and it works now.

    Hi,

sorry, this is likely to late for you. But maybe it helps other users.

Potentially your HTTP proxy configured within the RAD preferences requires authentication.
When using SOAP to connect from RAD to the Portal server, you may not be able authenticate to the HTTP proxy.

Portal discourages to use 127.0.0.1 or localhost as host name for the server
The HTTP proxy exception list within the preferences of RAD does not mention the hostname specified within Portal.

Thus, you likely need to manually need to add the host name specified within Portal to the HTTP exception list.

    Regards,
    Michael

    Hi SystemAdmin,

Can you  tell me exactly in RAD which option to navigate and provide the hostname of WPS in HTTP exception list. I am getting the same error

Error java.io.IOException: Unable to tunnel through proxy. Proxy returns "HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found"

    Hi,

Can you tell me in RAD where in server document we need to uncheck the option.
