I noticed that there two deployment mode for Cast Iron runtime, virtual appliance and public cloud. Does anyone know what's the difference for these two modes ? Are they based on the same architecture ?
For the cast iron public cloud, is it just one virtual appliance which is installed on Amazone EC2 ?
Can the projects be moved from one virtual appliance to cast iron public cloud smoothly ?

Cast Iron provides 32010-07-05T23:12:02Z in response to SystemAdmin
Cast Iron provides 3 deployment options. Namely, Physical Appliance, Virtual Appliance and Cast Iron Cloud. Cast Iron Cloud is a multi-tenant, On Demand, Integration As A Service (IaaS) platform. Virtual Appliance is similar to a physical Appliance but can be provisioned on a virtual machine (VMWare). All three provisioning options are cross compatible hence a project created for a Virtual Appliance or Physical Appliance can be migrated to the Cloud Platform with None to minimal changes to the project, depending upon the endpoints connected; and vice versa.

For Cast Iron cloud, is it just deploy the virtual appliance on Amazon EC2 ?
If one company want to host one public Cast Iron cloud, they only need to buy one virtual appliance and then deploy it on Amazon or other cloud platform. Is it correct ?
Cast Iron Cloud vs Virtual Appliance two different solutions2010-07-09T16:04:06Z in response to SystemAdminWhen a company buys the license for a virtual appliance they can host it anywhere. It can be at their data center or in the cloud. If they host it in the cloud it does not make it Cast Iron Cloud. Cast Iron Cloud is a solution offering from Cast Iron. It is NOT a virtual machine hosted on Amazon's EC2 platform, it is a fully multi-tenant platform built from the ground up. It has a highly scalable architecture which can scale based on requirements.
If a company wants to host their own Cloud Integration solution based on Cast Iron, we have a PoweredBy Cast Iron Solution offering and we can assist them in setting up their Cloud Integration Solution. Please contact our Channels and Alliances team for the same.
Just to re-iterate, Cast Iron Cloud and Virtual Appliance are two separate solution offerings from Cast Iron Systems.
