does this link mean it was supposed to be available for general availability from june?

is Websphere Application server 8 supported on production today, or still beta?

        Claus,

        The short answer is Yes.

Please see below for detailed system Requirements for WebSphere Application Server Base and Network Deployment V8.0
        http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27021246&wv=1

On each supported platform there are both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of WAS available, with exceptions.
On HP-UX and Solaris/X86, WAS is exclusively 64-bit.

          Rohit,

There's nothing on the IBM website yet?

WebSphere Application Server for z/OSSystem requirements
          WAS for z/OS V7
          WAS for z/OS V6.1
          WAS for z/OS V6.0
          WAS for z/OS V5.1 - Server
          WAS for z/OS V5.1 - Client

          Cheers
          Graham

            Hello Graham,

Sorry for the confusion. There is a separate page for zOS requirements:
