‏2011-05-24T14:51:40Z |
hi all,

has anyone ended up happy implementing san based heartbeat with powerha 7.1 using vfc or vscsi instead of physical FC?

any experiences to share?

thanks & greets

i don;t know how big defference is beetween 7.1 and 6.1 but in 6.1 diskhb on vscsi works fine.

vfcs had no chance to play with.

    thanks, fine.
but it's not "disk based" but "san based" heartbeat I am interested in (new 7.1 feature, no disk device needed).

Do you mean target mode heart beating? I don't think you can use vSCSI with target mode heart beating as you cannot connect two client vSCSI adapters together, as you can with zoning and vFC.

the powerha7 redbook suggests you can (mentions exact vio level that's reqd.)
