Pinned topic profilePath contains one or more characters that are not valid on IBM i

‏2011-04-12T13:23:58Z |
Continuing with my install of WAS 8.0 on IBM i running 7.1
I want to create the default standalone application server.

I'm now trying to create a profile. I issue the following commands:
STRQSH
cd /qibm/ProdData/websphere/appserver/v8/express/bin

I then issue the create:
manageprofiles -create -portsFile
/QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V8/EXPRESS/profileTemplates/default/actions/portsUpdate/portdef.props
-samplesPassword password
-serverName server1
-nodeName myhost
-hostName myhost.abc.com
-cellName myhost
-adminUserName wasadmin
-adminPassword password
-templatePath /QIBM/ProdData/WebSphere/AppServer/V8/EXPRESS/profileTemplates/default
-enableAdminSecurity true
-profileName default

I receive the message:
The following validation errors were present with the command line arguments:
profilePath: profilePath contains one or more characters that are not valid.

Can anyone offer assistance?

Thank you

    Hi Doug

did you ever get this error resolved or get a reply from someone

    I never got a response.

If I recall correctly, I was loading WAS 8.0 to test a scenario that one of my customers was having.  After getting deep into the install (acquiring WAS, getting system resources, etc) the customer got back to me and said: Oops, did I say WAS 8.0?  I meant some other version.  (I don't recall the version, but whatever it was I already had it installed)

So I didn't have a need to follow up on this install.

Sorry I can't be of any help on this.
