Pinned topic Config APT file using an alias name

‏2011-04-04T16:38:29Z |
I need to be able to create datasets on a primary machine (linux), then SAN replicate them to another machine (failover with separate SAN and DataStage EE installation), to be accessed by the failover server. However the datasets are hostname dependent.

Does the hostname in dataset come from the apt file?

If so, does the following sound feasible?

I can use an alias name for the "fastname" in the apt file. Then copy (SAN replicate) the datasets I create with this apt file to the failover server. When a failover occurs, I will bring up datastage on the failover server and access the datasets created on the primary.

Does this sound like it will work?
