Pinned topic Can we add multiple userids on a given target to CIM

‏2011-03-29T08:27:26Z |
We have two applications running with different userids and two WAS 7 instances and would like to test these applications on V8 beta.

I am able to add 1st userid on that server. I am receiving following error while adding the second userid.

CWWSY0103E: Duplicate target name or UUID. vlbos588

Is this the way CIM is designed?. Is there anyway I can add multiple user ids.

Thanks,
Mahesh

    Hi Mahesh,

You can only register a host with one userid only. If you'd like to register the same host with another userid, you will need to unregister the host first and re-register the host with the second userid.

This would restrict us from using CIM as we use multiple WAS instances with uniq id for each installation.

        Hi Mahesh,

How many WAS instances do you typically install on a server? Are they running with different userids?

Some servers have 3-4, some have 30 instances each running with different ids and seperate filesystems. Approximately we have about 4000+ instances.
