Pinned topic License key message during WLM setup

‏2011-03-28T13:36:19Z |
Hi all,

I get something strange regarding the license key.
We succesfully installed OPM with the licence key, but we are facing an issue when trying to create more than one Service Classes.

A valid license key was not found

for the requested function. The current license key

for

this product does not allow the requested functionality. Purchase the license key

for

this function from your IBM representative or authorized dealer and update your license using the License Center or the db2licm command line utility.. SQLCODE=-8029, SQLSTATE= , DRIVER=3.58.90

How can I see the license key already registered? needed?
Is there something else to install on the monitored DBs?

thanks,
Vincent

    Hi Vincent,
this error message is not about the OPM license, but about the DB2 license for WLM. Seems that on your monitored database the license for using WLM is missing.
You can use WLM if you e.g. the DB2 Performance Optimization feature licensed. You can verify your licenses on the monitored database by using the command 'db2licm -l'.
If you have the Performance Optimiztion Feature licensed then you will see an entry:
    DB2 Performance Optimization ESE: "Licensed"

If you don't see it then you still have to apply the license. You can use the db2licm tool to do it.
See the following link for the license file that you need to apply. It gives you also further links how to apply the license.

      db2licm -a db2poese.lic was the missing steps.

      thanks Ute
