Pinned topic Java and printing on AIX 6

I'm having a problem using Java when printing to a printer that's set up as a raw printing device. Whenever I try to print a page I receive the following Exception:

javax.print.PrintException: Printer is not accepting job.
at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerGet(
at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask.get(
at TestPrintService.main(
at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)

at java.lang.reflect.Method.invoke(
at org.eclipse.jdt.internal.jarinjarloader.JarRsrcLoader.main(
Caused by: javax.print.PrintException: Printer is not accepting job.
at sun.print.UnixPrintJob.print(

at java.util.concurrent.FutureTask$Sync.innerRun(
My java version is:

:>java -version
java version "1.6.0"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build pap3260sr8fp1-20100624_01(SR8 FP1))
IBM J9 VM (build 2.4, JRE 1.6.0 IBM J9 2.4 AIX ppc-32 jvmap3260sr8ifx-20100609_59383 (JIT enabled, AOT enabled)
J9VM - 20100609_059383
JIT - r9_20100401_15339ifx2
GC - 20100308_AA)
JCL - 20100624_01
This happens anytime I try to print to any printer ONLY using java. These printers are network printers. Also, printing using lpr works fine.

Has anyone encountered this before?
