Go a bit further down the list and you'll find what I think you are looking for?

IBM calls it "Kernel Extensions and Device Support Programming Concepts".

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/aix/v6r1/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.aix.kernelext/doc/kernextc/kern_enviro.htm

That said, do you just want to play around with device drivers or do you actually want to get a working firewall?

Not 100% sure about AIX5.3, but AIX6.1 for sure have IPFilter as an optional install which gives you all kinds of firewall options.

      Hi flodstrom,

      Thanks for responding.
I've take a look of IPFilter, Just like IPFilter on HP-UX and Solaris, it implement a STREAM driver called pfil.
I need to implement a STREAM driver which has pfil's ability to hook income and outgoing packet.

      Thanks!
