Pinned topic Apache configuration Error

‏2011-03-16T09:04:53Z |

On my Linux server I successfully installed IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager Agent for HTTP Servers for Linux Intel R2.6 (32 bit) but I have problem with apache configuration,
when I run (from root) -> /opt/IBM/ITM/bin/itmcmd config -A ht and configure apache serwer belowe error is return:

KHTC0003E Unexpected exception java.lang.Exception: Error executing /usr/sbin/httpd with options: -V.Error code: 1. Refer to trace log.
java.lang.Exception: Error executing /usr/sbin/httpd with options: -V.Error code: 1
at ITMinstall.CandleConfigAgent.main(

KHTC0006E Error: Unable to determine version of Apache runtime specified by home path /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf

Any idea why?
When i run command /usr/sbin/httpd -V or /usr/sbin/apachectl -V from root it works.

    Re: Apache configuration Error

I asked the HTTP agent dev/L3 team about this. When the ht configurator calls /usr/sbin/httpd -V from JVM, it fails with exit code 1; but the command issued from the command line works. In both cases user root is used, so permissions should not be an issue. JVM with ht configurator executes commands via CandleConfig; so something in the CandleConfig environment is probably causing the failure.

Please open a PMR on this problem, so the support team can diagnose and resolve it.

    Re: Apache configuration Error

You probably found the solution now but for all the other that can came across that error...
If your configuring for Apache instead of indicating /usr/sbin/httpd during the config of the agent (as shown in the doc) use /usr/sbin/apachectl
That might avoid the error and result in a successful configuration (do not forget to restart the httpd service to load the new include file).
