We have couple home-grown application that are good fit for the Modern Batch framework.
The main consideration is performance. We’re not planning to use Grids products because of the cost of licensing (although we’ll give this option to customers)
Is it possible in Modern Batch to execute steps in parallel? Right now we have application components that read from database, processes data, and writes it to content management repository.
Obviously read from database is much faster than processing and writing to repository, so we run writing operations in several threads. I’m wondering if we can do that in Modern Batch framework, maybe by using EJB 3.1 asynchronous session beans?
