Pinned topic Ubuntu 10.10 problem

‏2011-01-20T15:19:33Z |
I'm having problems installing iSeries Access for Linux on Ubuntu 10.10.
It seems that on this Ubuntu file xorg.conf is not in /etc/X11 folder.

Do you know the solution for this problem?

    Here is the error:

What exactly is the problem, is your emulator not starting? The message about not being able to find the X config file is just a debug message and not likely the cause of your problem. The following message ('NSC0017...') looks a bit more serious.

Did you install the libmotif3 package?

Yes, I have installed libmotif3. It strearts dialog, but when I enter server name and credentials it just closes it gives me errors in terminal. Here is the information:

Dialog for entering server name, username and password will start, but not emulator.
It seems to have some problems with fonts.

OK, when I pass locale argument, emulator starts.
        ibm5250 -LANGID hr_HR

But I cannot seem to make it work with croatian characters.
Here is my locale config from "sudo gedit /var/lib/locales/supported.d/local":

        en_US.UTF-8 UTF-8
        hr_HR.ISO-8859-2 ISO-8859-2

        Warnings:

Still no luck with configurating characters.
Here are the errors whet I try to start setup:

          manic@ubuntu:~$ setup5250
          setup5250: INFORMATIONAL : Build Date: September 2010 (V7R1 1.0)
          setup5250: INFORMATIONAL : setup5250
setup5250: ERROR : Xt Warning: locale not supported by C library, locale unchanged.
setup5250: ERROR : Xt Warning: Missing charsets in String to FontSet conversion.
setup5250: ERROR : Xt Warning: Cannot convert string "-*-*-medium-r-normal-*-*-*-*-*-m-90-*-*" to type FontSet.
          Segmentation fault

How do I make it work with croatian characters like ČŠĆĐŽčšćđž? In files we use CCSID=870.

I have the same issue. ibm5250 starts if LANG variable is exported as C. But whatever I do, I can't get croatian characters. Actually, I can't figure out how to change charset which ibm5250 is using.
