Hi
could you please help to clear my doubts on z/linux and linux
1) I would like to know how is z/linux on z series is different from the linux on intel machine.

2) i am aware of linux 2.4 and 2.6 kernel in intel machine,could you please tell the differences in terms of operating and administration .

3) if i want to run the cobol code do i need to use any utilities or other tools for it or the native cobol compiler is enough ?

    This forum is for IBM software on x86 systems. You might try asking in the Destination Z forum. One starting difference is that System z is big-endian while System x (Intel.AMD) is little-endian. Code needs to be compiled for the architecture, unless it is somethign like Java.
