Pinned topic XP "Fastback Mount" problems

‏2010-11-30T20:06:25Z |
I have two XP machines, and have installed "Fastback Mount". When
I try to map to the repository (SelectRepo> BrowseForFolder" and
enter the network path to it, it doesn't find it.

I can map to the repo fine from the same machine. This is on
two XP machines I have tested on.

It seems to install fine, and run, but just can't see the repo
on the server (but i can mount to it from same machine). However,
I also can't point it to the mapped drive I create.

Is XP not supported? or is there some trick to get it to
see the repository?

Thanks,
Fred

    XP is fully supported.
Please fire up FastBack Manager and configure FastBack Mount access to repository. It's located inside of "General Configuration" -> "FastBack Mount access".

Thanks... the problem ended up being that, in XP, the FastBack Mount
is installed as a "service" and has its "Log on As" set to the
    "Local System" account.

The solution was provided by IBM support...

I had to disable the service, and then run the FBmount manually,
by going to it's folder in Command mode, then typing:
    fastbackmount.exe -notservice

Then it allows me to use MY credentials.

(I then set this up automatically, by creating a batch file
and setting an icon to do it automatically).

Works great now that it can access the repository.
