Pinned topic Free geobrowser for DB2 now available

The "IBM® Data Management Geobrowser for DB2® and Informix® 1.0", subsequently referred to as "Geobrowser", is a modified version of the IBM ILOG® JViews Maps mapbuilder sample application which supports the display of spatial columns in DB2 and Informix databases. The Geobrowser allows you to easily select a table from a list of spatial tables in the database, display the geometries in the table using selectable symbology (color, line width, label font) and save a map document which can be used later to reload the map. You can use the mouse to zoom in/out on the map and display the attributes of a selected object.

The Geobrowser is available for download from:

    Hi,

    Thanks for free geobrowser.

But I have some problem to run it on my environment.

I installed geobrowser and tried to run, but I got following messages:

    Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NullPointerException
            at javax.swing.ImageIcon.<init>(ImageIcon.java:216)
            at shared.SplashWindow.setImage(SplashWindow.java:180)
            at shared.SplashWindow.<init>(SplashWindow.java:96)
            at shared.SplashWindow.<init>(SplashWindow.java:63)
            at shared.BaseDemo.showSplashScreen(BaseDemo.java:504)
            at shared.IBMgeobrowser.main(IBMgeobrowser.java:286)

Do you have any idea to solve it?

My environment is on Win 7 64bit, JRE 1.6.0  and DB2 10.1 with Spatial Extender.

    Thanks,

    EK

    I found solution.

This geoBrowser requires English environment. I uses Japanese environment.

So I added -D option to java command like -Duser.language=en -Duser.country=us, then works fine.

    Thanks,
