I have a Windows XP machine running a bundled version of RAD 7.5 with Websphere 188.8.131.52.
Is it possible to upgrade to Websphere 8 by simply 'overwriting' or 'replacing' 184.108.40.206?

WAS 22.214.171.124 cannot be directly upgraded to WAS 8. It will have to be separately installed or migrated.
Then, this question is about using WAS 8 with RAD. For this, please see the Information Center and http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rad/ for more details.
