Pinned topic RequisitePro 7.1.2.0 and MS Word 2010

‏2010-10-13T12:37:14Z |
Hello everybody!

I'm using Windows 7 x64 and I've MS Office 2010 correctly installed. I installed RequisitePro 7.1.2.0, which pretty much works, excluding the MS Word support. When I start ReqPro, i get the following error: "The version of Word (None) does not match the version required by the program (Word 2000, Word 2002, Word 2003) when opening RequisitePro". I've looked in the IBM support pages, but the articles regarding this issue (or even similar ones) didn't help me find a solution.

These are the pages I found:
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21384728
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=997&fdoc=rtlreqpro&uid=swg21193938
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=935&context=SSSHLQ&dc=DB550&uid=swg1IC51698&loc=en_US&cs=UTF-8&lang=en&rss=ct935rational

I tried to follow the instructions (like checking the registry key in /InstallRoot, which already exists), but those solutions didn't help.

It appears that RequisitePro supports Word 2010, so I don't know how to fix the problem.

Ideas?

Regards, Stefano

The problem seems to be related to the version of Office 2010, ReqPro doesn't support the 64 bit version of Word 2010.
Windows 7 x64, Office 2010 32 bit and ReqPro version 7.1.2 should work.

Thank you Marco. Reading the IBM support pages (talking about DCOM settings and such), yours seems indeed a very likely reason why my MS Word isn't working with Requisite Pro. I'll try with the 32bit version as soon as i can get it and let you know, but I'm pretty sure it will work.

I also hope that some future version of Requisite Pro will support the 64bit MS Office, since as far as I can see this problem hasn't been clearly stated before (keywords ReqPro and Word 2010 on Google return this thread as the first result at the moment) and I'm sure someone else will have this issue in the future.

Try checking the registry key in a 32-bit registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office.
    It works for me.

Try checking the registry key in a 32-bit registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office.
    It works for me.

Hi, I had the same issue with various versions of 7.1.n and fixed it with the following key:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Installroot]
    "Path"="C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Microsoft Office\\Office14\\"

I had the same issue with Office 2013.  Used the recommendation above but changed Office14 to Office15 and RequisitePro 7.1.3.X is working with Word 2013.
