Pinned topic Problem with the Cell Performance Counter (SDK 3.1)

‏2010-09-23T16:29:47Z |
I'm experiencing some problems when I use the cpc tool included in the Cell SDK.
I've already read all threads opened on this topic but no one addresses this issue (I've just used all the applicable solutions presented).
The error is the same already viewed:

me@localhost ~$ cpc -e 5401 -i 200000000 --sampling-mode count ./dma_tests 1 FATAL: Module cellperfctr not found. Error: Unable to load cellperfctr driver module: Operation not permitted.

I'm using a IBM QS22 blade server (2 PowerXCell processors) with:

me@localhost ~$ cpc --version Cell-Perf-Counter (cpc) version 2008.03.27-cvs me@localhost ~$ cat /etc/redhat-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga) me@localhost ~$ uname -a Linux 2.6.18-128.el5 #1 SMP Wed Dec 17 11:58:23 EST 2008 ppc64 ppc64 GNU/Linux me@localhost ~$ rpm -qa | grep cellp cellperfctr-tools-2008.06.30-1.el5

SDK version is 3.1-GA.
Problem is that the driver module, usually incuded into a second rpm, is not included in this SDK.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.
