Pinned topic ITIM - AD Reverse Password Issue

‏2010-09-14T15:43:15Z |
Hi,
I'm facing a weird problem on reverse password synch on AD.
The environment is ITIM 5.0 and the AD Adapter version is 5.0.1.

I installed the AD adapter and the password sync plugin. Every thing works fine when I change the password for a user directly from ITIM or directly from the AD server. I can see everything logged correctly.

The reverse password sync doesn't work and doesn't even log anything when the user changes his password using ctrl+alt+del.
As the event is not logged on the password sync log I don't know where to start from to debug the error.
Any ideas?

Thank you for your help,
Luca

If you have multiple domain controllers in your domain, then you must install the AD password adapter on every domain controller.

No, we have just one domain controller, and I checked that the user is logged on the correct domain controller.
    Thanks,

Well, you did not mentioned that you have installed the PwdSync adapter in the Domain Controller machine. So, let's confirm that you have installed the PwdSync in the Domain Controller machine. As for the AD Agent (not the PwdSync adapter), you can install in any machine, so to speak.

You are right! I did not mentioned my configuration. I'm actually on the easiest one: Password Synchronization and Active Directory Adapter on same domain controller workstation: so, following the manual, I should not have to set up any registry access.
    Thank you,

Well, if you have installed the binaries correctly, then double check the configuration values from the pfconfig utility then. For example, whether you entered the correct service name, itim account name/password, etc.
