Pinned topic REST sample code for secure search collection - Omnifind 9.1

‏2010-09-10T12:33:19Z |
as the subject says - does anyone got a working example using the REST api and a secure collection?
Probably just me not getting it right but this query will only accept the userID of the searchadministrator. and not an actual user with access to the collection

http://SEARCHSERVER:PORT/api/v10/search?collection=COLLECTIONNAME&query=QUERY"
Can anyone explain how to do this?
Using Omnifind 9.1 on Windows.

    Dear larsroger,

I am also in to OmniFind 9.1 Fix Pack 2. Have you found the way how to achieve secure collection?

Could you please share your thoughts?

    Thanks

We just created a technote this morning that provides guidance for developing secure search applications by using the JAVA APIs, and there is work underway to provide the equivalent information for using the REST APIs soon.

I will post the link here when it is available. In the meantime, would you like the JAVA version?

Actually i would like to know where can we set the security token? in Crawler? or in Crawler Space?
I am new to this OmniFind could anyone can give input?
The actual need here is user's group will be passed to the secured search and it has to match with the associated secure token and send the result.

    Hi,

I am new to REST web services. I am working on REST security level. Can any one please provide me one simple example to handle security level. It means, how to send sensitive data(ex: credit card information) with encryption through browser?

    regards,
    sriram

Did you ever get a resolution on this? We are just starting the development and I ran across this thread.

    Thanks,

Thanks for bringing this back up...it slipped through the cracks somehow.

Here is the link to the technote on the JAVA api:
    https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21501593

Attached is a document with some in progress notes on the REST api with some embedded samples for secure search.

NOTE: this is in progress and is provided as-is ...no warranty or support or guaranty, etc. etc. All caveats apply.
