Pinned topic Concatonating variables in a step

‏2010-08-25T21:27:11Z |
Does anyone know of a way to concatenate multiple environment variables into a single variable with .tset?

This is obviously not the way, but illustrates what I am trying to do
.tset finalvar = "The file " + $var1 + "Does not exist in directory" + $var2?

Thanks!

Found the answer, thanks to Sherard Howe at IBM:

Set the action of the MyMsg variable to append. On each step that is going to concatenate set the environment on the step and .best the value. The only issue is each concatenation will be separated by a semicolon.

Might be useful if IBM techs checked this forum once in a blue moon. I probably would result in fewer PMRs, as I am probably not the only person in the IBM universe that looks here first.
