Pinned topic Tivoli LoadLeveler accounting question

‏2010-08-11T14:18:00Z |
Hi All. I have a LL installed on cluster. The problem is that LL does not consider the used CPU Time for tasks that run on the command mpirun. Although normally considered when working for example with ANSYS. Settings made on the user's manual correctly.
Any help?

Was your mpirun command built using "llspawn.stdio" as the remote shell program?

See these links for more info:
      http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clresctr/vxrx/topic/com.ibm.cluster.loadl34.admin.doc/am2ug_configllspawn.html
      http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/clresctr/vxrx/topic/com.ibm.cluster.loadl41j.admin.doc/am2ug_mpich.html

If you are using rsh or ssh to spawn remote tasks, LoadLeveler will not be able get accounting information on slave nodes.
It will only report the usage of the mpirun process.

        Thanks for reply.

I'm using Intel MPI library. It's posible to use this library with LL?
In official Intel doc there's no support LL.

If Intel MPI allows us to specify the remote shell command to use (for example, mpiexec -r <rshcmd>), you could try specifying llspawn.stdio as the remote shell command. As you already know, this is not supported by LoadLeveler.

It is exactly what I need, Many thanks to your description!
