Pinned topic Services layer unable to connect to NAMED instance of SQL Server.

Our services layer doesn't seem to be able to connect to a NAMED instance of the SQL Server 2005.

This is for BF 7.0.1 looking at an SQL Server named instance on a different server.

the jdbc jar file is where it is supposed to be however I think it is malforming the connection string because I see:

Aug 10, 2010 9:32:17 AM com.buildforge.services.server.Main run
WARNING: Services Layer can not connect to the database... (polling)
com.buildforge.services.server.db.DriverException: ConnectError - URL: jdbc:sqlserver://*usseacqdb02BF1*:1433;databaseName=BFProd, Username: buildforge
at com.buildforge.services.server.db.DBConnection.<init>(DBConnection.java:209)

Now the server name is usseacqdb02 and the INSTANCE name of the SQL Server is BF1. Yet in the above connection string it looks as if its mashing the two names together and looking at server usseacqdb02DB1 - which isn't right.

Is there a way to correct the connection string? Could this have been fixed in a latter version of BF?

The management console works fine.

    Correction that message should be:

WARNING: Services Layer can not connect to the database... (polling)
    com.buildforge.services.server.db.DriverException: ConnectError - URL: jdbc:sqlserver://*usseacqdb02BF1*:1433;databaseName=BFProd, Username: buildforge
    at com.buildforge.services.server.db.DBConnection.<init>(DBConnection.java:209)
