Pinned topic [BPMN] Error, Cancel, Compensation and Conditional Events?

‏2010-07-15T09:01:25Z |
I am experimenting Business Process modeling with RSA 8.0 Beta2. I like a lot the graphical representation of the BPMN events. The rendering of these symbols by RSA is very nice (really eye-catching). Unfortunately, all the event types are not covered yet. Error, Cancel, Compensation and Conditional Events are not supported by the beta 2. Will they be available in a next beta version?
Many thanks,
Pierre

    Pierre,

RSA supports only a subset of the proposed BPMN 2.0 specification. Although there are a number of exceptions, RSA 8.0 was generally aiming to conform with the 'Descriptive' level proposed at the OMG (see "BPMN2.0 Process Diagram Conformance at http://www.omgwiki.org/bpmn2.0-ftf/doku.php?id=public:presentations_examples), which does not include the error, cancel, compensation and conditional event types.

We have included some elements from the 'Analytical' level at the request of customers, so if you have a business need for these event types in RSA, I encourage you to make a request for enhancement for a future release.

    Regards,
    Linda

    Pierre,

I should add that you can make your request for enhancement through the Rational RFE Community at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/support/rational/rfe/index.jsp
