‏2010-07-07T19:50:33Z |
when i attempt to use dbaccess in 11.50.fc5 on aix, i get an error message that says "Cannot open file 'menukey.iem'." This on a brand new instance and sysmaster was built successfully. Any ideas?

    Try the following:

    • mv $INFORMIXDIR/msg/zh_tw/e008/dbised.lmk $INFORMIXDIR/msg/zh_tw/e008/dbised.lmk.org
    • cp $INFORMIXDIR/msg/en_us/0333/dbised.lmk $INFORMIXDIR/msg/zh_tw/e008

I have no zh_tw dir under msg.

Ok, so you have no ILS installed.

    • something wrong under <INFORMIXDIR>/msg/en_us/0333/ :-(

Have you tried re-installing the product?????

Other instances under this same $INFORMIXDIR work fine. I suspect this is in my environment but cannot find anything. I have compared good vs. bad env commands and still cannot find a difference that would cause this.

You could probably get away by copying the contents of <INFORMIXDIR>/msg/en_us/0333/ from a good instance of the same version.

But I would rather recommend to re-install the product.

Okay, this turned out to be the PATH env. var. I originally had my $INFORMIXDIR/bin at the end of my PATH. When I moved it to the beginning, all was okay.
