Pinned topic System Alert: 'Potential trashing activity in operation'.... Meaning?

‏2010-05-25T15:25:26Z |
What does the following message mean:

The alert text is:
Potential trashing activity in operation, last trigger was updated from BuildForge::Artifact::Collector [/PerlApp/BuildForge/Artifact/Collector.pm] 584 will delay for 5s.
this is being sent to me from the BF console after I tweaked it to send email alerts. Does anyone know what it means or how to fix it? What is 'trashing activity'?

Notice it says 'Trashing' and not 'Thrashing'.

yes... that was a typo in the error message.

What's happening is the system realized it was alerting too frequently (this usually happens around sending email alerts) and stopped for a while. The causes can be numerous. I'd suggest opening a PMR to get support to help track down the cause.
