Pinned topic FAP Connect: Can't connect to FAP database error message

‏2010-05-17T12:08:36Z |
Hello developer community,

I am trying to install Controller 8.5 and the Financial Analytics Publisher component. Every time I try to login in the FAP Connect I get the following error message: "Can't connect to FAP database".

-Controller 8.5 is working fine!
-ODBC Connection is working fine!
-SQL Server is working fine!
-Only the FAP doesn't work!

My Environment is:
-Windows Server 2003 Enterprise
-MS SQL Server 2008 Enterprise
-Controller 8.5 FP1
-TM1 9.4.1

The FAPService.properties looks like this:
db=FAP_db (Name of the FAP Database in SQL2008)
host=STEPHAN-A1AA7I3 (Name of the computer)
dbType=sqlserver
user=controller (Name of the SQL User who is dbo for the FAP_db)
passwd=xxxx (Password of the SQL User who is dbo for the FAP_db)
clientcamuri=http://STEPHAN-A1AA7I3/cognos8/cgi-bin/cognos.cgi

When logging in through FAP Connect, I use the same parameters than in the FAPService.properties specified:
Database type: MS SQL Server
Server: STEPHAN-A1AA7I3
Database: FAP_db
Username: controller
Password: xxxx

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your answers!

    I found my mistake. I did not install the SQL Server 2005 Native Client! When creating the DSN with the SQL Server 2005 Native Client, the connection works!
