I installed FileNet P8 v4.5.1, on Windows Server 2003. Now i would like to monitor the healh of FileNet P8 system by FSM. To do this can i install FSM on the another server than where FileNet P8 installed?

This is the accepted answer.I may be misunderstanding the question, but FSM is designed to be installed on a stand alone server. You would not want it to run on a server that has other P8 components on it. First of all, if the server went down, you wouldn't get any alerts because the FSM server would be gone. Also, FSM takes up a lot of the recources on the server, so having another P8 component on it may have performance issues. So the answer, I think, is yes, you can install FSM on a non-P8 server. P8 is not a requirement for FSM. You can run FSM on a server with no IBM software on it at all, other than the FSM client software. Hope this helps.

This is the accepted answer.In short, yes, and that is how you should do it. The FileNet System Monitor is not intended to be installed on the P8 servers. Doing so could negatively impact performance of your P8 Servers as the monitor and the P8 environment would be competing for server resources.
