Pinned topic Activate

Hello,

I was trying Optim Query Tuner and I found that it says the features "Index Advisor", "Query advisor" and "Access path advisor" are not enabled.

I later learnt from the on-line documentation that I have to activate "IBM Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows" on my dataserver to use these advance features. This is the link I learnt about this - http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/idm/v2r2/index.jsp

Now here goes my questions -

1. What does this "dataserver" refer to? The system where the Data Source database is running on or the system Optim Query Tuner is installed ?

2. How do I activate "IBM Optim Query Tuner for DB2 for Linux, UNIX, and Windows"? I didn't see any documenation how giving this info.

Looking forward for advices, thank you.

To answer your first question, the data server refers to the system where the data source is stored.

    To answer the second question:

This HTML page explains that users need a license for the advanced features, and the "Learn more" link opens a table that lists the features that are enabled with and without licenses.

    Hello Danny,

    Thanks much for replying.

There was a application developer of Optim Query Tuner contacted me admitting that the documenation on the ibm website misses some linkage to direct user to the right pages.

And yes, your link is the right one telling people to acvitate the license.
