Pinned topic Consuming a REST Based Service using Rational Insight

‏2010-02-17T14:13:45Z |
I would like to know what are the steps involved for consuming a REST based service . This REST based service is from a different application and the main purpose of this integration is to retrieve data from the custom REST service and use it to generate reports . Is there any documentation around this ?

Thanks in advance

Vijay

    Hello,

In order to consume a REST interface within Insight you need to configure the Insight XML Data Configuration (XDC) tool to connect to and load data from that REST service. The following user assistance topic(s) cover how to connect the XDC tool to a REST service:

    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/rentrpt/v1r0m0/index.jsp?S_TACT=105AGX15&S_CMP=LP

In addition, you will need to follow the standard process of analyzing the data that you want to load from the REST service, determine whether that data maps into one of our existing supported product domain models, determine whether any changes need to be made to the Insight data warehouse to store data from the new REST service, update/create reports and/or dashboards. etc.

    Hi,

Thanks for your response , I was able to read information from the REST resource and depict it as a report.
    Thanks again
