Pinned topic DS3400 Start-of-day routine begun

‏2010-01-11T14:35:14Z |
Hi all,
I have this event (Event type: 2606 Description: Start-of-day routine begun) in the event log of our DS3400.
As I know, this procedure is executed when the controller is restarted. This cause timeout problems to the host (WS2003 + Oracle).
How to fix it?

Notes:
This DS3400 have latest firmware.
This DS3400 recently upgraded from single-controller to dual controller.

Thanks in advance.

Andrey

        Hi Andrey,

do you realy have one server with two 2-ports FC HBAs and OS Windows 2003/8 with Veritas DMP software installed? Could you confirm.

          Hi Alexander,

we have one server with two 2-ports FC HBA (it's may be ok - see http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/resources/systems_storage_disk_ds3000_pdf_config.pdf on page 25) and OS Windows Server 2003. We don't use Veritas DMP.

As I understand, You mean that controller reboots because of an wrong host type specified? ("Windows Server 2003/Server 2008 Non-Clustered" index 2 instead of "Windows Server 2003/Server 2008 Non-Clustered (supports DMP)" index 9)

          Thanks in advance.

            Andrey,

I guess that it can be a source of problem, but I am not sure.
First of all set the correct host type and if it not helped call to your local IBM HW Support and open a warranty case.
