Pinned topic Old Data Missing

‏2009-12-01T00:52:27Z |
Until 2006, we were running Transaction Server version 4 on an NT box, at which point disk image backups were taken and the system shut down. Unfortunately, we just discovered that we needed some of the old data, so we restored the disk images to a new PC running NT. CICS and SFS both start fine, but CICS cannot find our data files. If I run cicssdt to list the files, only the CICS base files are listed, but not our data files. Yet the files are still there in the VAR directory--and if I look at the restart file in VAR\cics_servers\SSD\cics\sfs\OUR_REGION, I see the files listed. Is there something I can do to get SFS seeing the data files again?

Thanks.

Bill

    Hi,

How did start the sfs server. Is it cold start or warm start?.

If you have done cold start, you might have lost all the data from the volume.

Did you run sfsadmin list files -server /.:/cics/sfs/<sfsserver name> to list files in the sfs server. Otherwise run the above command and see if the files are loaded.

    Thanks

It has always been a warm start. I will run the command and post the results.

I tried the sfsadmin command. Only the CICS files show up. Our data files do not show up.
