I have just installed QS 8.0.1 on two new machines (windows XP). When I logon to the windows box as an Administrator, I can then logon to the QualityStage Designer . If I logon to windows as a normal user I cannot logon to QS. I get the error "Failed to authenticate the current user against the selected Domain: C:\IBM\InformationServer\ASBNode\conf\registered-servers.xml (Access is denied)"
I have examined the file 'registered-servers.xml' but do not see any list that might be edited. I cannot fathom how the windows account can matter to the QS software. I use the same QS accounts in both instances. We have several other machines running QS Designer without this error.

Re: Failed to authentic when not an Administrator2009-11-24T22:07:47ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.I have 'resolved' this issue. When I installed the QS software as a Local Administrator the problem existed. I uninstalled the QS software and reinstalled it as a Network Administrator. Now it works fine! Who knew? :-)
