Hello,

I have a problem when I try to create a New Default Scenario in ODM.

I developed a model in OPL, the model read in data from Access database. The data is quite hugh, for example, the table for transportation cost is about 200,000 rows.

From OPL, I generated ODM application. In the ODM I clicked on Workspace and created New Default Scenario. ODM was working for a while ( about 1 mins), then it poped up an error message saying "Not enough Memory...  contact system admin to add more memory".

My laptop is 2GB Ram.  How can I solve this problem?  Does ODM have a limit on problem size.

By the way,  I am able to solve the model within OPL perfectly.

Thanks for your answers.

Boon

    Hi,

ODM does not have any hard limits on problem or data size, it's just limited by memory available to the process. ODM runs in Java, and by default the max memory limit is set to 512M. You can try and change this by creating and setting an environment variable called ODMS_JAVA_ARGS to include -Xmx1024m (to allow 1Gb, for example).  (In Control Panel select System, then Advanced tab, and Environment Variables button).

    Does that work?

BTW: Some additional information can be found in the documentation : LOG Optimization Decision Manager 3.1 > ODM User's Manual > Basic usage > Introduction to ODM > Memory Management.
