Pinned topic Improving the Quality of Code... Any Certifications / Books available

‏2009-11-03T14:32:24Z |
Hi,

I would like to go through any courses that are in offer or presently available for improving the quality of the Java Code...

I see code at the work place which requires a lot of improvement according to me and also quite evident while evaluating according to the normal

standards of quality checks automatically available in IDE's

Please help me with any courses available online or any books that I can download and refer to

Check out FindBugs , PMD that help you to improve your code. There are other tools available as well.

Regarding book, you can check out Refactoring and Clean Code

I recommend also the book "Effective Java", by Joshua Bloch and the open-source tool "sonar". It inspects java code and generates a synthetic dashboard with a lot of useful data (potential bugs, less-tested classes, duplicated code, deviation from coding standards...). It uses internally well-know tools like findbugs and cobertura.
    See http://sonar.codehaus.org
