Re: OS installation issue through CSM2009-09-17T08:44:52ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer. It seems you didn't have correct network driver for your network devices in the netboot image for kickstart installation. You can refer to the CSM documentation "Planning and Installation Guide", in "Chapter 14. Installing Linux on nodes" -> "Configure Linux driver modules". Make sure your network driver is in place and re-run the CSM command.

Thanks for your reply, after updateing the driver still we are facing problem.
We followed the steps to upgrade driver.
1. Installed RHEL 4 update 4 manually on LS22
2. Download the appropriate driver file.
3. Update latest network card driver there.
4. Go to CSM management server.
5. Under /csminstall/csm/drivers, create the following directory:
6 Place a copy of the driver in the /csminstall/csm/driver/kernel
version/arch directory on
the management server.
the driver by the suffix *.ko in the corresponding directories.
7. copy drivers from directory /lib/modules/kernel
version/kernel/derivers/net/*.ko to media or driver, then copy from there
one thing i found on RHEL site, LS22 is supported with RHEL 4 Update Ver-6 instead RHEL 4 Update Ver-4, that could be resaon for not installation OS by csm or we are missing any steps above to use network driver.
Pls. help me.

If RHEL 4 Update 4 can't support LS22, it means RHEL 4 Update 4 can not be installed on LS22 or there will be many unpredictable problems when using it. Is there any reason that you have to use RHEL 4 Update 4? I recommend you to use newer RHEL releases.

Pls refer to this page https://hardware.redhat.com/list.cgi?version=4&field0-0-0=cf_internal_whiteboard&type0-0-0=substring&value0-0-0=Server&field0-0-1=cf_internal_whiteboard&type0-0-1=substring&value0-0-1=laptop&field0-0-2=cf_internal_whiteboard&type0-0-2=substring&value0-0-2=desktop%2Fworkstation&showall=1
It says LS22 is supported from RHEL4.7, so RHEL4U4 can't support LS22 definitely. You just can't install RHEL4U4 on LS22 using any methods.
