Pinned topic unable to redirect the datapower logs to linux box

‏2009-08-10T11:42:29Z |
Hi,

I have defined a logging target to send to remote linux box.Below is my configuration
Trget type:syslog
remote host:remote hostip
remote port:514
Local ip adress: i gave managment interface address
Syslog facility:user
rate limit:100

And configured the event subscriptions to Event category=all and MinimumEventcategory=debug

And on linux box(remote host) I have added the below property on /etc/syslog.cong
user.* -/var/log/datapower.log

But still i am not able to view the datapower logs.
Am i missing something?Do i have to do any other configurations.

regards,
rupa

    Hi Rupa,

There are a few things you can try to debug:
    1) Verify that there is a network path between your mgt0 interface and the syslog server and that there are no firewall rules that will block the traffic.
    2) Verify that DataPower is sending the logs by using another syslog client. There are a variety of open source apps you could use.
    3) Verify that there are no filters in place on your syslog server that would reject debug level messages.

    I hope this helps
