Hi All
We Have the following Configuration:
IBM Power 550
Installed on it RedHat EL5.3
We tried to install on it Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.1)..
But we got Some errors will linking oracle in the installation :

Exception Name: MakefileException
Exception String: Error in invoking target 'ntcontab.o' of makefile '/home/oracle/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_4/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk'. See '/home/oracle/oraInventory/logs/installActions2009-06-14_02-56-40PM.log' for details.
Exception Severity: 1

I install IBM XLC Runtime Environment ...the above error disappears but another error most like it appears..

the same but in a file named sysman.mk ...

attached is the screen shoot of the error...

i read the following Article:

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/wikis/display/LinuxP/Installing+Oracle+Real+Application+Cluster+RAC

But i want to ask did anybody tried it on RH EL5.3?
do you think that Patch number 4767801 will solve the error on RH EL5.3 also?

I had a similar problem but on a SLES 10 with oracle 10g

Which version of XLC do you have ?

I explain my problem, perhaps it's the same like you :
In my problem, the oracle makefile are written to xlc v 7.0
so I modify it in the files gensyslib syslilist to specify my version of xlc (9.0)

    code
< -ldl -lm -lpthread -lnsl -L/opt/ibmcmp/vac/7.0/lib64 -L/opt/ibmcmp/vac/7.0/lib -lxl
    ---
    > -ldl -lm -lpthread -lnsl -L/opt/ibmcmp/vac/9.0/lib64 -L/opt/ibmcmp/vac/9.0/lib -lxl
    [/code]
