You will have to replace your cache battery or your system will stop using cache and performance will be degraded.

Re: 2113 event occurred .Controller cache battery nearing expiration Component2009-05-19T06:58:04ZThis is the accepted answer. This is the accepted answer.Dear newbieibm,
read section "Controller battery age timer" in the next page:
Installation, User's, and Maintenance Guide - IBM System Storage DS3400
BTW, there was additional info in previous release of this doc:
"When the battery reaches 2 years of age, it does not mean that the battery has failed; but the battery might not be capable of maintaining cached controller data for up to 3 days in the event of a storage subsystem loss of power.
At the 2-year expiration date, you should either order a replacement DS3000 controller cache battery to replace the cache battery that has expired or disable controller cache.
Note: Disabling controller cache can result in a loss of performance."

I also read following on the manual .
In the Storage Manager software, if the battery age timer indicates that the battery is 2 years old, but the battery is not reported as failed, do not call your IBM technical-support representative to replace the battery. Instead, reset the battery age by using the procedure that is described in the Storage Manager software online help. 70 System Storage DS3400 Storage Subsystem: Installation, User’s, and Maintenance Guide
Attention: Write caching is suspended while a battery is either charging or self-testing.
So in summary I need to reset the battery and assume it's working . Also my battery is hardly one year old in DS3200. Am I right .
