Pinned topic Error Deleteing Portlet from a Page

‏2009-03-20T16:17:59Z |
Any suggestions on other ways to force delete a portlet from a page when getting the following error from trying to delete it from Portal Administration?

RemoveComone E com.ibm.wps.command.composition.RemoveComponentCommand
AbstractCommand.throwCommandFailedException EJPEC0382E: Unable to excute the command AbstractModelCommand: The object with the ID [ObjectIDImpl '7_L8RVBSG20G7QE027ERPD2V2007', NAVIGATION_NODE, VP:0, Domain: rel],DB: 0000-15EDBF3814001EED80386EE726BE00E0 cannot be found. Two of the possible causes are that the object has been removed, or the permissions on this object have been revoked. Object Type: NAVIGATION_NODE

The portlet is the Sametime chat portlet. The dlwoopk.war (associated file for the chat portlet) file was replaced with a new one from development. So I assume that the orginal chat portlet on the this page was associated with the older war file and now it can't find it's pointer to the file. So is there anyway to remove this chat portlet (it is not working)from the page? We have added a secondary chat portlet to the same page and that is working fine. The other one will not delete, so it is currently being hidden via a visibility rule.

Thank you!

What version of Portal is this? Some older versions contained defects which can lead to this problem.

Also, is this clustered or standalone? That can have some bearing as well.

You should check the basics first. Does this object ID (7_L8RVBSG20G7QE027ERPD2V2007) still exist in the release? To check, use ExportRelease.xml as input to XMLAccess & search for the object ID in the resulting XML. Assuming the object ID still exists, verify that your user ID has the appropriate access rights on that object, using the resource permissions portlet.

I will check with xmlaccess. We are running a 2 node cluster environment on 6.0.1.3.
