Does anyone have IMS database (in Oracle DB) in remote server? Currently, we've IS 4.0 and IMS both on same server and we are planning to move out IMS to other server. We've gone thru IBM documentation but we are not sure whether or not - "remote oracle server needs to have fnsw filesystem, users, all IS user groups, and fnsw user member of DBA group"?
Appreciate if anyone can provide suggestion on this.
Thanks for your help.

Re: IMS migration to remote server2009-06-03T14:34:20Z in response to RKTONLINEyou need to probably build a new environment from scratch following install guides as if this was a new installation.
then initialise your new environment and ensure it works, finally get some Oracle DBA assistance to export indexdb from source system and import schema to new database.
either backup/restore the filenet MKF databases from old server using MKF_export/MKF_import or EBR.
Doing this does not 'affect' your existing environment and you can easily use new server to test with and your backout plan is simple (just turn back on old server) if you hit problems.
This effort is normally performed by your local FileNet consultant who are in the IBM ECM Lab Services groups.
